~ Steve O'Shea~

Steve O'Shea's interests include marine invertebrates and especially cephalopods, their evolutionary history, relationships, and distribution. But like anyone with a keen interest in a special group of organisms, he is involved in research of their environment. His research includes programs that monitor and survey aspects of marine ecosystems.
Steve calls Wellington, New Zealand home, and it's there that he is Curator for the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA). At NIWA, Steve is responsible for curating, maintaining and developing NIWA biological collections.
Steve's degrees in Zoology come from the University of Auckland. He has spent time in the U.S. as a Visiting Scholar at the Field Museum of Natural History, Chicago, and Visiting Curator at the American Museum of Natural History, New York City. Steve has been working professionally on marine projects since 1985.
