Russell's Viper

Vipera russelli

Vipera russelli
Vipers, a type of snake, fold their fearsome fangs up to the roof of their mouth except when striking. In the course of evolution, snakes lost their limbs, but their elongated bodies allow for a type of crawling locomotion. Their many, short vertebrae permit curving and bending.
