Scientists at Work

Scientists at Work

This exhibition is closed.

View the Marine Ecosystems Laboratory, where you can observe museum scientists performing the work necessary to maintain the model ecosystems. To find out about the history of and research associated with the model ecosystems, take a behind-the-scenes tour of the lab on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Saturdays at 2:00. Free tickets are available for visitors on a first come, first served basis at the Information Desk in the Rotunda. Groups need to reserve tour times in advance by calling (202) 357-2747.

Within the exhibit, find out about the research of an ecologist, geologist and botanist as they work to develop ways to maintain healthy ecosystems, pinpoint causes of environmental problems, and discover new species.
