Discover birds from each of Earth's major geographic regions: A rhinoceros hornbill from Southeast Asia, ostrich chicks from East Africa, and penguins from the Antarctic are among the hundreds congregated here. Learn about bird evolution, flight, migration, and classification. . .or simply enjoy the beauty and diversity of birds. All 27 orders, encompassing 9,000 known bird species, are represented. Extinct birds are here, too. A diorama of Carolina parakeets reminds us of these ebullient neighbors that, not long ago, filled the skies.
