Wildebeest - Africa - Savannah

Wildebeest (Connochaetes taurinus)
Wildebeest migrate more than 1,450 km (900 mi) a year in search of food—north during the dry season, south when the rains return. Giant herds of up to half a million animals stream across Africa’s Serengeti plains. Over millions of years, wildebeest have evolved special teeth and a digestive system that can chew and process the tough and fibrous plants that grow across the Serengeti.
