Hyena (Crocuta crocuta)
Scavengers—animals that clean up the leftovers—have an advantage during the dry season, when fresh food is scarce. The spotted hyena’s skull is superbly adapted to eat every part of the animal—including bones. Its stomach juices digest them almost completely.
