Fennec Fox (Vulpes zerda)
Fennecs really know how to outfox the heat. These small foxes avoid the scorching heat of day by staying inside their underground burrows. They usually venture out to hunt only at night. Their enormous ears, which measure about one-third of their body length, work like funnels to collect the sounds of prey—scurrying insects, lizards, birds, and rodents. They also help dissipate heat.
