Polar Bear (Ursus maritimus) Polar
bears can stay warm during the frigid winters of the Far North
because they are well insulated with a combination of blubber
and thick fur. Even in temperatures that dip to -45 degrees
C (-49 F), they can wait for hours for a seal to surface at
a breathing hole.
