Cauyaq / Drum. Drums are played to accompany song and dance. Traditionally, the drumhead was made from a seal hide, seal bladder, or halibut stomach. Some Alutiiq drums were painted with figures representing shamans' spirit helpers. Others had carved and painted handles.
