Nose Ornament - More Info

In classical Alutiiq society, a child’s nose was pierced shortly after birth to accommodate a nose pin. The ornaments were made with beads, feathers, bone, dentalium shells, or sea lion whiskers. This example consists of glass beads strung on copper wire.
