Otter Arrow - More Info

Qehuq / Sea otter arrow. Men in kayaks would surround a sea otter and shoot arrows each time it came to the surface. The arrow points stuck in the animal but the wooden shafts came loose and floated away, attached by sinew cords. The wounded otter was soon exhausted by pulling arrows behind it and was caught and killed with a club. Hunters believed that the animals chose to let themselves be taken, and treated them with great respect.
