Dart Game - More Info

Augca’aq is a traditional man’s game based on sea mammal hunting. It is played during Russian Orthodox Lent. Players kneel on the floor and throw darts at a whale-shaped target that dangles from a string. They win points according to where a dart strikes the target. Players and spectators place bets, and Elders recall times when guns, outboard motors, and even houses were won and lost at augca’aq matches.
