An image of the specimen in the Lewis and Clark herbarium. . . . Machaeranthera canescens var. incana (PH-LC 138). The copyright for this image is retained by the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia; this image is used with their permission. The Lewis label says, "On the Columbia" but gives no further details regarding the dates. This collection could have been made any time after October 15, 1805 once the Corps entered the Columbia.
