Restoration of the ocean hall took three years (2004–2007) and the work of nearly 500 people. Now complete, the hall boasts a 54.5-foot ceiling in the center gallery, 22-foot ceilings in the two adjoining galleries, and historically accurate Beaux Arts architectural elements. The ocean hall will be the largest exhibit in the Museum at 23,000 square feet (7,010 square meters).
