“Three of my adventurous kayaker friends invited me to photograph them as they launched over this spectacular 45-foot waterfall—which is, in essence, a one-time event. You cannot simply walk to the river above the falls, so they had to climb to a launch area on top of the cliff. They then got into their kayaks and slid down the cliff face, plunging into the river above the falls. These guys amaze me. It is awesome to watch, let alone to photograph them, as they push their limits. Once lined up, the kayakers go over the falls in
a thrilling few seconds and I hold my breath while the cameras roll. I set up several cameras on radio remote controls so that I could capture as many frames of the action as possible. It is always thrilling to produce a great action photo that leaves people in awe!”
