“I took many photographs of this baboon as he was being groomed by his mate. He obviously enjoyed it. His expression was irresistible; I had to get a photograph that captured the joy on his face. In order to isolate the baboon from the background and limit the depth of field, I chose a long lens and shot with a fairly wide aperture, being certain to focus sharply on his eyes. I think the image captures his contentment.”
