“I was outside taking photos without my tripod when a storm unexpectedly blew in. Even though it would be incredibly difficult to capture lightning strikes without the tripod, I decided to try. I set my shutter speed to 1/640 of a second to freeze the lightning and still have enough light for the surroundings. When a lightning bolt appeared, I released the shutter just as it hit the ground.”
