"Mathis M. Somby gazes at his herd. A relative and a friend, he invited me to participate in the spring migration in 1992. As the temperature dropped below -5° C (-22° F), everybody slept close together. Slightly uncomfortable, I moved towards the tent wall. It was freezing, and Mathis crept closer. I moved away. Mathis asked me in the morning how the night had been. I admitted that I had been freezing. 'Yes. You were a very good insulation against the cold,' he said with a smile. The next night I learned."
