Volunteer with us!

We need you to help our visitors discover the amazing natural history of butterflies and plants. Butterfly pavilion volunteers will assist exhibit staff, answer visitor questions, help enforce pavilion policies, handle live insects, and give scheduled demonstrations for museum visitors.

Volunteer requirements:

  • Attend required trainings
  • Volunteer a minimum of 8 hours per month
  • A strong interest in butterflies, botany, evolution, or a related field
  • Enthusiasm for working with the public
  • Learn basic facts about butterflies, plants and evolution
  • Dedicated and dependable
  • Minimum age of 16 years
  • Tolerate moderately high temperatures and high humidity
