Seeds of Change Garden

Smithsonian's 'Seeds of Change Garden'

Garden Webring Entrance

Welcome to the Smithsonian's Seeds of Change Garden!

What is the Seeds of Change Garden?

When Columbus sailed to the New World, he was looking for gold and riches. What he brought back would turn out to be more valuable than any amount of gold: new food crops that would come to feed the world.

This is a web site for teachers and parents who wish to explore the effects of the Columbian Exchange by planting a unique garden. Through planting a garden with Old World, New World, and 'Exchange' plants, and through other activities, children will learn about the diversity, agriculture, commerce, and history of our world.

What is the Garden Webring?

A Webring is a way of connecting pages of similar content on the World Wide Web. Each web site on the ring has a 'Next' link which will take you to the next site on the ring. If you keep pressing 'Next,' you will find a lot of sites with similar content, and will eventually end up back where you started.

The Garden Webring is a webring specifically about gardens and gardening. If you'd like to learn more about gardening, start following the webring around, and you're certain to find out what you want to know.
