Seeds of Change Garden

PUMPKINS

Pumpkins originated in tropical America. Seeds from related plants of the pumpkin dating back from 7000 to 5500 BC have been found in Mexico.

Pumpkins are difficult to grow and need careful attention. They are used primarily to make pumpkin pie. The seeds are also roasted and salted to make a snack food. Farmers also feed pumpkins to their livestock.
