Mr. Kanunga assists leading the team of excavators and is the liaison with the local Maasai people during the field season. During the rest of the year he prepares the Olorgesailie fossils for research at the National Museums of Kenya and spends time with his family at their shamba (farm) in Machakos district east of Nairobi.
