I love these wonderful robes and the whole ritual attire. There is an element of
performance to it. These people were very generous and loved being recognized.
They start taking on the traits of the orixás. They know they
are opening up to me, and through me, to other people.

Xangô was the king of Oyo in Africa, but after his death, he was deified
and became one of the forces of nature. He is power, justice, vanity, and joy.
